| Nicholas Co HS football! Go Grizzlies :) |
Hello from Summersville, WV. After a summer of transitioning to my new town of Summersville, I am jumping in full swing as September comes around the corner. I started Young Life staff August 1 and have been spending time with high school students, fundraising, and planning for the fall semester. As the students of Nicholas Co HS and Summersville MS start back to school, Summersville Young Life starts to pick up too!
Last week, I attended a New Staff Orientation at the Lake Champion, a Young Life Property in New York, where I had the opportunity to meet other young adults beginning the adventure of Young Life staff. It was encouraging to meet with others who are experiencing the same excitements and fears as I am. The trainers helped us to continue to build a Christ-centered perspective as we prepare for the many relationships, activities, and tasks ahead of us.
I am so thankful for this new season of life! I am looking forward to what God will do in me and through me, being confident that as Isaiah 52:12 says: “For you shall not go out in haste, you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”
Please pray for the many high school sporting events Scott, Susie, and I will be attending this month! Also, pray for leaders. We hope to meet with people who could have a leadership roll in Summersville YL within this month.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
(Matthew 9:36-38 ESV)
Thanks for supporting Summersville Young Life!
