September 20 - Update

Girls night :)
Hello friends of Summersville Young Life,

The Lord is good and is doing great things!  The last two weekends in Summersville have been lots of fun with the kids from Nicholas Co. HS. Last weekend, I attended my first Potato Festival (annual event in downtown Summersville) and a volleyball tournament with a few kids to cheer on the Lady Grizzlies. This past Friday night, I hosted a girls night at my apartment - its finally furnished.  Seven girls came and we had a fun filled evening of desserts and games.  On Saturday, a few girls and I went to the guys soccer game and stopped by the New River Gorge on our way home.  We've had Campaigners on Sunday afternoons and had some good discussions about life and the Word.  This week we talked about Psalm 32: Are we honest with God and is God being our refuge and hiding place, who we run to when we are in need of comfort and protection?
Beautiful day at the New River Gorge
Also, last week I got to move my belongings into my apartment!  The shower unit is supposed to be installed this week, if all goes as planned, so I will hopefully be fully moved in by next week!!  I am really looking forward to having a place that is open to my friends to come and enjoy.  It is my prayer that it would be a place of love and a safe haven for the brokenhearted!

Please join the staff and other areas in the Young Life River region in prayer by praying Matthew 9 for the leadership!
35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to  send out laborers into his harvest."

I greatly appreciate your prayers and your support of the ministry in Summersville!

Blessings in Chris
